Gary Terry graduated at the top of his class at the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1996, and completed his Masters internship in Anderson County Schools at Claxton Elementary. He came to Anderson County High School in 2000 as a special education teacher and was named the head of the department in 2004. Coach Terry began his football coaching career in 1996 at Oak Ridge, and brought his skill set to Anderson County in 2000 as the Mavericks made their way back into the playoffs. In 2008, ,Coach Terry was named to the curriculum coordinator position at Anderson County High and gained the Athletic Director and Assistant Principal title in 2009 as Mrs. Peggy Stooksbury retired. In 2011, Coach Terry completed his Education Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University. He may be contacted at the school.
