David Gillum
Head Coach
Coach Davey Gillum comes back home to coach his high school alma mater. He was a two time All State tailback in the mid 90's as he led his team to back to back playoff runs. He was on the 1996 team that broke the nation's longest winning streak , 54 games in a row held by Cleveland High School. Coach Gillum recieved a scholarship to play college football at East Tennessee State University and later was an invited walk on to the University of Tennessee. He was there when they won the 1998 National Championship. Coach Gillum has coached at the university level at East Tennessee State and Pikeville College before returning to Anderson County in 2009. He is married to Margaritta, and they have a son, John David, who is two and a daughter on the way. In his first two years, Coach Gillum has led his team to two quarter final appearances and 19 wins.

Gary Terry
Assistant Coach
Coach Terry came to Anderson County High School in 2000. He is from Knoxville, where he played his high school ball at South Young. He was a walk on to the 1988 University of Tennessee football team, and coached at Oak Ridge High from 1996-1999. He has a wife, Gena, and two boys, Grayson and Garrison. He has coached football since his arrival in 2000 at various positions, and now is the Assistant Head Coach and Defensive backs coach. In 2009, Coach Terry became our Athletic Director replacing Mrs. Peggy Stooksbury, who did an outstanding job for over 15 years as Athletic Director. As Athletic Director, Coach Terry is overseeing projects such as the new weight-training facility that has just been completed, and the fundraising efforts for that project. He is currently adding a "Wall of Fame" to the track area as well. Also, Gary assisted the baseball boosters in getting the brick wall backstop at the baseball field. As a football coach, he has seen the Mavericks through seven playoff appearances, including three quarterfinal apearances and four second round appearances winning 77% of their games.

Tony Braden
Assistant Coach
Coach Tony Braden has been with the team since 2006. He has worked with the Freshman program as the Defensive Coordinator during this time. Coach Braden is a Fireman with the Clinton Fire Department during the day. He helps coordinate the defense on Friday nights from the box. Coach Braden is a true maverick, playing for the Mavericks in the 1990's.

Duane Terry
Assistant Coach
Duane, or Coach T, has been with the program since 2002. He was responsible for building the blue tower on the practice field which is used to film practice sessions. He has done countless projects in and around the fieldhouse and football area. He has scouted and worked with the freshman team since 2002. He is the "get back " coach on Friday nights for the Mavericks. He is Coach Terry's Dad. He has been married for 42 years to his wife, Cynthia.

Aaron Bass
Assistant Coach
Coach Aaron Bass returns to his high school to coach. He was an All State Punter for the Mavericks in the mid 90s with a average of over 45 yards his senior season. He went on full scholarship to ETSU as a punter and played all 4 years.
